It is well known that some of the best biking trails are located in the Sea-to-Sky region of British Columbia. Squamish's natural landscape is ideal for both mountain and road biking. The diversity of the physical terrain, combined with the hard work of the many volunteer trail builders and mountain bike enthusiasts have sculpted Squamish's unparalleled trails.
Whether you are a first time biker, or looking to enjoy one of the well known races in the region, Executive Suites Garibaldi makes for a great base. All suites are large enough that you can bring your bikes in for the night, and if you need a bike we’d be happy to help you to find just the right rental store. Before you head out, pick up a detailed bike trail map of the region from the front desk.
Visitors enjoy gentle cruises in the estuary and friendly cross country trails in the Alice Lake area, to steep downhill descents on Diamondhead. There’s something for every skill level. The four main areas include: to the south, Valleycliffe/Crumpit Woods with its hike-a-bike granite playground. Diamond Head’s vehicle access offers trails for the big bike shuttles. Alice Lake is perfect for first timers with its gentle slopes and some technical descents. And there are the valley trails and dykes.
With so many trails covering such a large area, the options are endless and worth getting an introduction to the trails. Maps and guide books are also available at the Squamish Adventure Centre on Highway 99 as well as at all bike shops. As well, the local bike shops can set you up with last minute supplies and tips on the must hit trails for your skill level. We’ve put together a few great links to help you to get acquainted with the area’s bike facilities. Don’t hesitate to call us if we can help with more info.
